This came in late last week but I've been incredibly busy and blog neglect has set in. This is a very unique offering from the Goose Island guys. Brewed to mark the completion of 1000 batches of beer. Aged for 150 days in Bourbon Barrel. This imperial stout is described as 'The Cigar Beer'. I'm not a Montecristo smoker but I'll definitely give it a go with a Marlboro Light.
Limited stock, Available now...

This is one of the most pleasantly interesting bottles of beer and I'm all about strange.
When you clip the crown cap the nose exudes Christmas tree aromas, cloves, mocha and cinnamon. The palate is almost identical to the nose. Coffee, spice and conifer. A dark wintry looking ale. Stout colour with a slightly red hue.
Really good with spiced beef or as an alternative to mulled wine.
It has since joined my list of festive favourites, it's up there with Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas' and 'My fair lady'........

The line-up is displayed to our right. I can guarantee some festive music, minimal decorations and loads of good beer. Delivery last night, a couple of new beer specials as promised. All really welcome. This will be the last catch-up before the New Year.
Definitely don't miss it!!!!
