Drinking a 355ml of Anchor Christmas ale is something similar to inhaling Santa's Grotto.This is one of the most pleasantly interesting bottles of beer and I'm all about strange.
When you clip the crown cap the nose exudes Christmas tree aromas, cloves, mocha and cinnamon. The palate is almost identical to the nose. Coffee, spice and conifer. A dark wintry looking ale. Stout colour with a slightly red hue.
Really good with spiced beef or as an alternative to mulled wine.
It has since joined my list of festive favourites, it's up there with Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas' and 'My fair lady'........
