Hilden Brewing Company, Belfast.

Evidently, I'm a talented photographer, even stationary objects look in speedy motion.....

I'm always really excited to get in a few new Irish beers. The Hilden Brewing Company are Ireland's oldest Independent Brewery. These guys are situated between Lisburn and Belfast and it's not Harp!!!

I went for The Belfast Blonde, 4.3%: A clean, pale beer with a hoppy nose and a floral palate.

The Cathedral Quarter beer, 5.3%: Classic red ale with a full bodied round fruit palate.

Both available in Deveney's as of today. Ruthxx

Sierra Nevada S.Hemisphere Harvest.

12 bottles of this seasonal brew from Sierra Nevada arrived today. If you're in search of something really unusual, this is your beer.
It contains all New Zealand hops, freshly picked in the Southern Hemisphere, dried and shipped directly to Chico for brewing.
The tasting notes from the brewery as follows:
Appearance: Gold around rim, orange and slightly cloudy.
Nose: Heavily malted with notes of caramel and notes of apple.
Palate: Fresh hops coming through with just a hint of malt.
I'll give it the test run this evening and post the ABC.

Pig on a spit.... Apologies.

Just responding to all the positive feedback regarding the 'pig on a spit' I mentioned in the September tasting post. Apologies, I was trying to be funny. We are not having a pig roasting in the shop for Oktoberfest. Although this is a good idea, health and safety might not be so keen.

Sorry to disappoint everyone.

Apologies again!!
